Position SummaryThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with Project Managers, field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company quality and safety standards.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProject CoordinationSupport Project Managers with daily project execution and coordination activitiesTrack project schedules, milestones, and deliverablesCoordinate with field supervision, vendors, subcontractors, and clientsAssist with manpower planning and material logisticsParticipate in project meetings, job walks, and coordination sessionsFinancial & Cost ControlProcess and track:Purchase Orders (POs)SubcontractsChange OrdersRFIs and SubmittalsMonitor:Job costsLabor productivityBudget versus actual costsBilling progressAssist with monthly cost projections and Estimated Cost to Complete (ECC) reportingSupport change pricing and proposal updatesDocumentation ManagementMaintain project files and closeout documentationTrack and organize:As-builts/redlinesO&M manualsWarranty documentationInspections and permitsManage drawing revisions and document control processesField & Operations SupportCoordinate with:SuperintendentsForemenBIM/VDC teamsSafety personnelAssist in resolving material shortages and field-related issuesSupport project execution through regular communication with field teamsClient & Vendor CommunicationMaintain professional communication with:General ContractorsOwnersSuppliersEngineersAssist with proposal requests and pricing updatesHelp build and maintain strong client and vendor relationshipsSafety & ComplianceEnsure project documentation aligns with company and jobsite safety requirementsAssist with:Jobsite compliance trackingTraining recordsPermit coordinationQuality control documentationTypical Daily TasksReviewing RFIs and submittalsUpdating project schedulesProcessing material releasesTracking deliveries and procurement statusAttending coordination and progress meetingsReviewing labor and production reportsAssisting with change order pricingUpdating BuildOps, Procore, and ERP systemsCoordinating project closeout itemsQualificationsStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to read and interpret electrical plans and specificationsKnowledge of NEC and general construction processesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management softwareStrong time management and multitasking abilitiesAbility to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment under schedule pressurePreferred ExperienceExperience in electrical construction or commercial/industrial construction environments preferredFamiliarity with Procore, BuildOps, Bluebeam, or ERP systems is a plusUnderstanding of project cost tracking and construction documentation processes preferredBenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holiday pay.Opportunities for professional development and certification assistance.Equal Employment OpportunityUpchurch Companies provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
