Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking to hire an Assembler II in Burbank, CA.The Assembler II works under supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions. This will be in our hydraulic-mechanical assembly area.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform assigned assembly tasksPrepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assembliesTest finished assembliesSet up and operate assigned equipment and machineryObserve proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicalsIdentify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in processParticipate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvementCross-train to work on at least 2 productsComplete job-related company training coursesSupport Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they ariseAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementMay perform inventory cycle countsUnderstand and/or participate with internal/external auditsMay be required to repair/rework defective or returned assembliesMinimum RequirementsExperience: 3-5 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsSkills: Strong verbal and written communication; Good reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents); Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness; Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high volume settingEducation/Certification: High School diploma or equivalentEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).Preferred QualificationsIPC Soldering CertificationWork EnvironmentWorking conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, helm straps, and shop coats.Standing: 25% (percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task)Sitting: 75% (percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task)Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 poundsPushing (in pounds): up to 40 poundsMental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glassesWorkspace: assembly cellSpecial Work ConditionsApplicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Eligibility requirements include U.S. nationals or permanent residents (Green Card).About CraneCrane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets.
