Job Description

Client Profile: Indiana based company specializing in providing commercial maintenance services. Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of interstate roads, highways and roadways for the safety of traveling public. Must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions. Duties: Must have proper work attire and personal protection. Work is performed outside in varying weather conditions- hot or cold, wind, rain and snow, dust, pollen, rough/rugged grass and plants, trash. Standing for extended time doing traffic control; picking up highway/roadway traffic signs. Walking long distances for litter control; loading and unloading trash bags. Comply with safety standards; comfortable with reading and interpreting documents, manuals, instructions, etc. Follow company policies and procedures. Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Requirements: Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience maintaining roads, operating equipment including self propelled broom, roller and or mower. Prior traffic control training a plus. Must have a valid driver license if in a Supervisor role. Comfortable working in all weather conditions; using hands, ability to lift up to 50 pounds; climbing, reaching kneeling, etc. Organized with ability to multitask and prioritize workflow. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (felonies are addressed on a case by case base) and drug screen. Hours: M-F 7am to 4pm (1 hour lunch), occasional Saturdays; some travel in designated metropolitan area(s) Starting pay up to $14.00 hourly (negotiable for the right person).
