About The Role

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) plays a key role in helping patients recover safely and effectively in their home environment. Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA implements personalized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, relieve pain, restore function, and enhance overall quality of life.

This role is ideal for a clinician who enjoys building strong patient connections, working independently in the field, and being part of a collaborative healthcare team focused on outstanding outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Assist Physical Therapists in carrying out individualized treatment plans
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions
  • Perform manual therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities as directed
  • Monitor patient progress and accurately document treatment responses
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention
  • Communicate patient updates and concerns with the supervising therapist and care team
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional treatment environment
  • Support patients in achieving maximum independence and functional goals

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current PTA license in the state of practice
  • Current AHA CPR Certification
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Valid auto insurance
  • Minimum of 1 year of home health experience preferred
  • HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, and sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs.
