Director of Facilities Management - Healthcare

Location: USA | PRN | Nationwide Travel Required

Summary

The Director of Facilities Management (PRN) is responsible for leading all facilities operations, engineering, maintenance, and life safety functions within assigned healthcare environments. This role provides executive-level oversight of facility systems, capital planning, regulatory compliance, and project execution to ensure safe, compliant, and high-performing environments of care. This position serves as a key partner to hospital leadership and is accountable for facility performance, infrastructure planning, regulatory readiness (TJC, CMS), and operational excellence. The Director will manage both short- and long-term planning initiatives, oversee budgets and capital projects, and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and healthcare standards while supporting patient, visitor, and staff safety nationwide.

  • Ensure compliance with TJC, CMS, NFPA, and regulatory requirements

  • Identify risks, drive solutions, and maintain safe, compliant environments

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of facilities leadership experience in healthcare
  • Strong knowledge of TJC, CMS, NFPA, and healthcare compliance standards
  • Experience managing capital projects, budgets, and infrastructure programs
  • Proven leadership of teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to read Life Safety drawings, plans, and building systems
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-accountability environments

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required
  • MBA preferred or equivalent experience
  • Certified Health Facilities Manager (CHFM) preferred
  • Other relevant certifications (ASHE, NFPA, ACHE) a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license (REAL ID)
  • Must pass drug screen, background check, and driver's license check
  • Willingness to complete required medical screenings, TB testing, and vaccinations per client site requirements
