Job SummaryPosition: MRI Technologist at Wentworth‑Douglass Hospital, Lee, NH. Work hours Monday‑Friday, 4:00 pm–8:00 pm (20 hours per week). Onsite location at WDH Lee. The role involves operating MRI scanners, safeguarding patient safety, and providing high‑quality imaging services.ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate patient identification and adherence to safety protocols in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines.Execute MRI scans for ambulatory, inpatient, and emergency department patients, adjusting parameters to maintain diagnostic quality and manage MRI safety in complex care environments, including adult anesthesia.Insert IV catheters (when needed) and prepare for and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, using MR‑compatible power injector, and monitor for contraindications and adverse reactions.Record all contrast injection details in the EMR; perform point‑of‑care testing where applicable.Instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures, ensuring adherence to safety policies; function as final safety checkpoint prior to scanning.Identify hazardous system malfunctions; secure the area and remove patients and personnel from the magnet bay during emergencies.Perform scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanner and related equipment; record QA results and report issues to supervisor.Assist Practice Assistant and other department staff with duties such as scheduling, transporting patients, inventory, and filing as needed.Rotate across available MRI scanners in the department.Be available for occasional overnight shifts and holidays (excluding per‑diem technologists).QualificationsEducation: Medical Imaging certificate/diploma required, or Associate's Degree in Medical Imaging preferred.Licenses & Credentials: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (R.T.(MR)(ARRT) or MRI Technologist (ARMRIT) certification required; Massachusetts Medical Imaging License (MR)(R) required; Basic Life Support (BLS) required.Experience: 1–2 years as an MRI Technologist.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to operate complex electronic equipment and instrumentation and perform quality control procedures; ability to transfer patients to the MRI table and move the table between rooms, lifting and transferring patients to stretchers; provide appropriate care to diverse age populations and potentially oversee students and work with lab animals for research; maintain ethical standards (patient confidentiality, professional conduct); use departmental tools (EMR MRI search engine, electronic dose calculators, PACS) to confirm contrast dosing and patient safety; collaborate with local MRI leadership team to ensure efficient patient flow and scanner utilization; communicate effectively with departmental staff and other hospital personnel.Additional Job DetailsEmployment type: RegularWork location: Onsite, 65 Calef Highway (Lee, NH)Shift: EveningPay: $42.26–$50.99 per hour (grade 6)Weekly hours: 20EEO Statement1810 Wentworth‑Douglass Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
