Glastonbury, CT 06033, USATrumbull, CT 06611, USAJob DescriptionGZA's Glastonbury and Trumbull office have an opening for a Geotechnical Project Manager to successfully execute all aspects of projects under the guidance and supervision of a company Principal. The successful candidate will represent the Company with the client throughout proposal, contract and project performance phases, will be responsible for day-to-day execution of technical and financial aspects of each project, and will be involved with marketing activities, networking events, and the development and mentoring of staff. Project Managers have ownership opportunities with the firm and the potential for advancement to principal levels.Primary ResponsibilitiesInternal and client communicationsManaging project team, delegating to office and field staff and executing day-to-day activities of projectsMonitoring team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgetsProviding business development supportPreparing proposals and reviewing/writing geotechnical reports with Principal guidance and reviewStaff training and staff reviewManaging project contractual and financial issues (including terms of agreement, changes in scope, billing process)Typical DutiesManage and mentor GZA existing staff of project-level engineersMonitoring and documenting geotechnical aspects of construction projectsConducting/reviewing technical analyses/calculationsParticipating in meetings and agency consultationSite compliance inspectionsDeveloping construction plansPreparing construction cost/quantity estimatesPerforming and overseeing geotechnical computer modeling. Experience with geotechnical engineering programs including SEEP/W, SLOPE/W, L-pile and Plaxis is preferred.GZA emphasizes a One Company environment, and as a member of our team, you may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering required; Master's Degree preferred6+ years of relevant experience since college graduationExperienced computer skills using MS Office and engineering software such as slope stability and shallow and deep foundationsExcellent communication, problem solving and organizational skillsExperience with financial project managementDemonstrated delegation, leadership, and team building skillsExperience in execution and management of multiple office and field tasksP.E. requiredOut of town assignments may be expected.
