Location: Upper Marlboro, MDWork Model: Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 remote)Employment Type: Full-TimeCompensation: $125,000–$150,000 base + 10% bonusA well-established, PE-backed organization within the manufacturing and distribution space is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations for one of its business units. This role reports directly to the VP of Accounting and offers strong visibility to senior leadership, along with long-term growth potential within a broader enterprise.This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes initiative, and does not require extensive oversight.Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, accruals, and weekly cash flow forecastingOversee and drive the monthly close process , including consolidation and segment reportingEnsure timely completion and review of balance sheet reconciliationsMaintain and strengthen a strong internal control environmentPartner with FP&A to support performance analysis and operational insightsDevelop and enhance accounting dashboards and KPIsServe as the primary contact for external, internal, and regulatory auditsSupport SOX compliance , corporate accounting policies, and banking activitiesOversee sales and use tax , regulatory reporting, and insurance administrationManage, coach, and develop accounting staff (including AP‑focused team members)Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase automationCollaborate with operational leaders to support business performance and growthQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA preferred7–10+ years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience in an Accounting Manager, Controller, or Operating Controller roleExperience supporting multi‑site operationsBackground in manufacturing and/or distribution environments strongly preferredExperience in public accounting and/or PE‑backed or public company environments a plusStrong working knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS exposure a plus)Advanced Excel skills requiredERP experience required (specific systems not required)Proven ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, low‑handholding environmentWhy This OpportunityHigh‑impact leadership role within a growing PE‑backed organizationStrong visibility to senior leadership and opportunity for advancementCollaborative environment with a proven track record of successful hiresCompetitive compensation and bonus structureHybrid flexibility#J-18808-Ljbffr
