Job TitleVascular Sonographer –JPS Main –PRNJob SummaryThe Vascular Sonographer PRN will perform complex lower, upper venous and arterial procedures, carotid doppler, segmental pressures, and other vascular examinations as prescribed by the medical provider.Essential Job Functions & AccountabilitiesPerforms procedures as ordered and obtains images according to written protocols.Reviews patient history, prior studies, lab results before imaging and consults with physician on any incidental findings.Performs complex lower and upper venous and arterial procedures along with lower segmental pressures, carotid doppler, vein mapping, pulse volume recording, color flow, limb volume measurements and ablations.Participates in intraoperative vascular ultrasound, research protocols, student/technologist training, and quality assurance programs.Positions and immobilizes patient on exam table, monitors video display during scan and adjusts density or contrast to improve picture quality.Reviews and evaluates computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.Adjusts equipment to obtain images, including color distinctions, and distinguishes audible sounds.Identifies patient orders and works to prevent treatment/ procedure delays, ensuring continuation of service.Completes documentation in accordance with current standards, including EMR and mandatory forms.Organizes and accurately performs the individual steps in the sonographic procedure in proper sequence.Performs and documents quality control on equipment and reports problems to Bio‑Medical or Manager.Ensures a safe and clean environment with all necessary supplies in exam room.Uses PACS, EMR and related software for job responsibilities.Engages in equitable distribution of departmental workloads.Performs routine assignments using existing procedures and demonstrates conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the discipline.May be required to perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsCompletion of program/training with specialization in Vascular Ultrasound.Current Registry with ARDMS or CCI in Vascular Ultrasound.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, accredited by AHA or ARC, required by first day of employment.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Preferred QualificationsCAAHEP or ARDMS approved Ultrasound school, or equivalent.Training in Renal Doppler, Pediatric Echocardiography, Ablation, TEE, Segmental pressure.Location1500 S.
