We are not going anywhere.Position Overview Position Type: Full‑Time or Part‑Time, Hourly Non‑Exempt Department: Mortgage Sales Reports To: Mortgage Branch Manager or Mortgage Sales ManagerPosition Summary The Junior Mortgage Loan Originator is an entry‑level sales role designed for individuals with two or fewer years of experience in residential mortgage lending. This position is responsible for assisting clients with loan applications, presenting suitable mortgage products, and learning the full cycle of loan origination under close supervision. The role includes training and mentorship from senior originators and managers, with expectations for growing production capabilities and regulatory knowledge over time.Key Responsibilities Assist prospective clients with basic mortgage inquiries and loan product educationCollect and review borrower financial documentation for completeness and accuracyPrepare and submit loan applications under supervision, ensuring compliance with company standardsFollow up with clients, processors, and underwriters to support timely file progressionDevelop familiarity with loan origination systems and required disclosuresParticipate in ongoing training sessions and sales coaching programsMaintain pipeline activity reports and communicate status updates to clients and team membersObserve regulatory guidelines and ethical sales practices in all loan origination activitiesSupport branch sales goals and contribute to customer satisfaction initiativesProgressively build personal production capacity and referral relationships under guidanceRequired Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in business, finance, or communications preferred0–2 years of experience in mortgage lending or related financial servicesValid NMLS license or willingness to obtain license within specified timelineExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to learn and apply industry regulations, guidelines, and best practicesFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and CRM or loan origination platformEqual Opportunity Statement: Texana Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
