Description

The Manufacturing Mechanical Design Engineer II is responsible for providing comprehensive engineering support to production operations to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, high‑quality output, and continuous improvement. The role bridges design, production, and quality teams to optimize manufacturing performance and implement cost‑effective solutions.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent preferred.8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with electromechanical products.8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, planning and fabrication, working with AC/DC motors, actuators, hydraulic pumps, valves, electro‑mechanical, engine components, compressor assemblies and accessories.Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, special processes, and specifications related to precision aerospace components and systems.Knowledge of design/drafting practices, geometric tolerancing, and proficiency in reading and understanding mechanical drawings.Responsibilities Production Support – provide day‑to‑day engineering support to resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production flow and consistent product quality.Process Improvement – identify and implement continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize cost.Technical Documentation – interpret and work from engineering design documents, specifications, prototypes, and change orders to determine appropriate equipment, tooling, materials, and manufacturing methods.Cross‑Functional Collaboration – collaborate with internal departments, customers, and external suppliers to ensure that functional, quality, and cost requirements are met on schedule.Manufacturing Planning – develop and update manufacturing plans, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs) for new or modified products, including licensed product lines.Tooling Design – design assembly and test tooling, fixtures, and shop aids using SolidWorks to support production and test activities.New Product Introduction (NPI) – lead and manage engineering activities for the introduction of new products into production, ensuring a smooth transition from design to manufacturing.Troubleshooting – diagnose and resolve assembly and test‑related issues, implementing corrective actions as required.Change Management – initiate and participate in the engineering drawing change process (ECR, ECN), ensuring accurate and controlled documentation updates.Material Review Board (MRB) – actively participate as an MRB member to evaluate and resolve nonconforming material issues.Benefits Comprehensive medical insuranceCompetitive PTO, holiday pay, and sick leaveCompany 401K plan with up to 4% matched contributionAnnual bonus program (varies by level and discretionary based on company and individual performance)Flexible working arrangementsPaid volunteering opportunitiesAccess to mental health champions across our sitesCommitment to developmentEmployee referral programCompensation Pay Range $100k - $130kExport Control Compliance This position requires compliance with export control regulations.
