As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will operate ultrasound equipment used to monitor, record and measure the way patients' hearts are working in order to help doctors diagnose and treat patients with heart disease. This is a per diem position working varies shifts.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates computerized equipment to monitor and record the electrical activity and pressures generated by the heartProvides technical services for the investigation, diagnosis and detection of heart diseaseTakes pictures of patients' hearts with ultrasound (echocardiography) to check heart function and identify abnormalitiesUses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and imagesUses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findingsMeasures patients' blood flow by analyzing their bodies' use of oxygenAnalyses the amount of oxygen in blood samples taken from the heart chambers to check for holes in the heartOperates equipment and monitors patients' status during exercise testing for heart diseaseProvides interpreting physician with an oral or written summary of technical findingsIdentifies problems, secures relevant data to identify possible causes, generates alternative courses of action and possible consequences, and reaches conclusions and solutions based on thorough analysis and reasoningCoordinates work schedule with supervisor and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverageAssumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's careAssists with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratoryDemonstrates responsibility and accuracy for electronic data entry and maintenanceMaintains a daily log of patients seen / completes exam billing formsMaintains ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintains adequate suppliesParticipates in continuous quality improvements activitiesEstablishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating hospitals and referring physiciansKeeps supervisor well informed of status of assignments, responds to requests and leadership of supervisor, and helps supervisor gain support for unit goals and plansRemains self‑motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolveOther duties as assigned.RequirementsHigh School diploma, or equivalentGraduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)Current certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriatePreferredBachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical SonographyBilingual, ability to speak Spanish is a plusRAYUS Radiology is an EO Employer/Veteran/Disabled.Benefits (based on eligibility) include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, pet insurance, PTO and holiday pay, and many more.#J-18808-Ljbffr
