Water Treatment TechnicianRequisition Number: 28684Required Travel: 0 - 10%Employment Type: Full Time/Hourly/Non-ExemptAnticipated Salary Range: $36,920.00 - $45,000.00Security Clearance: Ability to ObtainLevel of Experience: Entry Level HIYou will support the US Army's Ground Vehicle Systems Center located on site in Warren, MI. The technician will assist senior personnel and engineers in the deployment, operation, and testing of mobile water purification units to ensure tactical water purification equipment meets operational readiness, water quality, and safety standards. The primary objective is to evaluate the performance of mobile systems in producing potable water from fresh water sources under simulated field conditions.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in the setup, calibration, operation, and tear-down of mobile water treatment systems during testing phasesCollect water samples and perform basic chemical and physical analysis (e.g., pH, turbidity, chlorine residual, total dissolved solids) under supervisionPerform routine preventive maintenance on pumps, reverse osmosis membranes, multimedia filters, hoses, and generators associated with the water treatment unitsRecord operational metrics (pressure, flow rates), test results, and maintenance actions accurately into facility logs and digital databasesAdhere to all facility safety guidelines, environmental regulations, and SOPs during testing evolutionsMinimum QualificationsAssociate's Degree or other 2‑year technical degree in a related discipline and 0 years of experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experienceBasic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with standard hand tools. Ability to read and follow detailed technical manuals and test plansMust be able to attain a US DoD Secret security clearance (therefore must be a US Citizen)Physical RequirementsAbility to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
