Athletic events will take place on weekends and holidays.Appointment Length: Regular Continuous/Until Further NoticeHiring Range: Commensurate with education and experiencePriority Application Date: While applications will be accepted until a successful candidate has been hired, interested parties are encouraged to submit their materials by to ensure full consideration.Special Instructions to Applicants: For full consideration, please include a resume, cover letter and contact information for three professional references.ResponsibilitiesAthletic Trainer responsibilities include:Prevention of athletic injuries and illnessesEvaluation of athletic injuriesTreatment of athletic injuriesCounseling and education of student athletesAthletic Training administrative dutiesAssist with the coordination of medical coverage for home and away contests, including scheduling of student and graduate assistant athletic trainersQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, or Athletic Training (degree must be conferred on or before agreed start date)Post Graduate Athletic Training ExperienceCertifications, Registrations, And/Or LicensesCertified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification and/or American Physical Therapy AssociationLicensed by the state of Oklahoma as an athletic trainer prior to hireSkills, Proficiencies, And/or KnowledgeExtensive knowledge in OSHA guidelines and universal precautionsExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of NCAA Rules and guidelinesKnowledge and understanding of guidelines in the NCAA Sports Medicine HandbookMust be able to lift in excess of 100 lbsExtensive time standing per dayAbility to deal with heat and changing weather conditionsExperience and knowledge of organizing strength programs, especially for injured student athletesPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Health/Physical Education, Athletic Training, or Physical TherapyExperience working with athletic trainer/physical therapistCertifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses (Preferred)Additional: Preferred Certification by NASM as PES, or by NSCA as CSCSAdditional SkillsExperience with aquatic rehabilitationExperience with teaching clinical and practice skills in CAHEP-approved Athletic Education Program#J-18808-Ljbffr
