We are looking for a Senior Strategic Finance Analyst to partner closely with business unit leads and finance leadership on key strategic decisions that drive growth for Uber Freight.This position will work at our office in Chicago.Responsibilities Build models from scratch, improve existing models, break complex models down into consolidating subcomponentsPartner with key stakeholders to translate top-line forecasts to headcount needs, ensure we are setting our business partners up to succeed while also challenging the organization to work within financial targets and efficiency goalsYou will help support the primary point of contact for all Tech operating expense controls.This includes ongoing maintenance and health checks, monthly forecasts, and annual/long‑range planningCreate cost management process by assisting in ideation, quantification, assessment, and tracking of productivity projectsDevelop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements to adjust our most pressing prioritiesTake ownership of projects from conception to completion, demonstrating strong initiative and driveManage and interpret data effectively: Utilize your expertise to collect, organize, and analyze data, ensuring it informs strategic decisions and supports business objectives.Innovative - Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skillsBasic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fieldMinimum of 3 years experience in Corporate Finance/Operational FP&AAdvanced Excel/Google Sheets skillsForecasting and Variance AnalysisPreferred Qualifications MBA, CFA or CPAStrong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze complex datasetsOracle Suite: Experience with Oracle Fusion, Hyperion Essbase, or EPBCS.Data Visualization: Experience building automated dashboards in Tableau or Power BI.Strong working knowledge of GAAPCapitalization Rules: Specific experience with R&D/Tech labor capitalization (CapEx vs. OpEx).Strategic Analysis: Experience performing ROI analyses for capital investments or product health KPIs.Industry Experience: Previous experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a fast‑paced Tech/Start‑up environment.Soft Skills: Exceptional presentation skills, as this role requires "challenging the organization" and presenting to Tech leads and Finance leadership.Exceptional organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skillsAbility to lead and collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.Previous experience in the logistics, supply chain, or financial services industriesBenefits & Compensation Employees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short‑and‑long‑term disability coverage, life insurance and more.
