Youth Care Specialist – Residential CareFull‑Time, Part‑Time, and PRN Opportunities AvailableThe Youth Care Specialist (YCS) plays a vital role in providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for youth residing at Children's Attention Home. Youth Care Specialists work directly with residents ages 13–20, guiding daily living activities, supporting treatment goals, and helping create a positive, structured home atmosphere grounded in trauma‑informed care.This is a hands‑on, relationship‑focused role ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with youth and making a meaningful difference in their lives.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct supervision and care for residents during daily routines and activities.Support youth with independent living skills, coping strategies, and treatment goals.Create, lead, and participate in age‑appropriate, therapeutic, recreational, and educational activities.Accompany and supervise residents during appointments, outings, and community activities.Monitor behavior, provide guidance and support, and assist with behavior modification plans.Complete required documentation, including shift notes, logs, reports, and bed checks.Respond to and help de‑escalate crisis situations using approved trauma‑informed techniques.Assist with daily household responsibilities, including meals, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment.Ensure compliance with agency policies, licensing standards, and safety requirements.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required (additional education preferred)Prior experience working with children or youth in any setting (residential care, childcare, education, mentoring, babysitting, etc.) requiredValid driver's license required and must be maintained throughout employmentAbility to work extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to meet the physical demands of residential care, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and responding quickly in emergenciesWillingness to complete all required agency, licensing, and regulatory trainings (including CARE and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention)Get to Know Children's Attention HomeFounded in 1970 as an emergency shelter for vulnerable youth, Children's Attention Home now provides comprehensive residential care for youth up to age 21.
