Description of Duties: The individual in this role will serve as a Direct Service Provider of the APEX program. The focus of this program is to provide services that support individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse issues in the School Systems of Webster, Marion, Sumter, Schley, Taylor, Crisp, Dooly and Macon Counties. Administer therapy for the purpose of addressing serious mental health/substance abuse behaviors. Provide individual, group, and family counseling to students who are eligible for program. Collect data and prepare a variety of reports for the purpose of documenting case history, assessments and treatment. Provide a variety of mental health services such as case consultation and advice concerning student status, diagnosis, and treatment for the purpose of ensuring mental health providers are being provided the information needed to provide the most effective mental health services possible. Provide continuous student evaluation consistent with established teacher, school and district objectives, goals and policies for the purpose of advising consistent and effective mental health/substance abuse services to reach set goals. Maintain confidentiality of records relating to students' treatment. Travel from site to site and/or perform necessary home visits for the purpose of providing direct treatment, consultation and collaboration for students and families. Complete all electronic documentation and report preparation in a timely manner. Provide prevention and intervention services for students, such as conflict resolution and crisis intervention individually in the classroom setting. Communicate with staff, students, and parents regarding the counseling and guidance program and its role in the educational program. Refer students and their parents to appropriate resources, special programs, or outside agencies, refers to community-based resources as needed. Attend IEP, RTI, facility/staff, 504, etc, team meetings as needed. Counsel with students in groups and/or individually regarding personal and/or social issues, such as anger management, bullying, peer relationships and academic or life skills. Receives referrals and background information for the purpose of conducting assessments and implementing appropriate behavior intervention plans. Performs related duties as assigned. Transporting individuals served is a requirement.Minimum QualificationsValid unrestricted Georgia Driver's License. Master's Degree in counseling related field. At least 1 year experience working with youth/students and families with behavioral needs. Must be computer literate.Preferred QualificationsCPR and First Aid Certification. Valid Georgia Licensee to practice (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.). Panel eligible.
