Computer Systems Test Technician

Supports the testing and basic troubleshooting of computer systems and software. Position also includes writing test procedures and reports, some domestic travel (1-2 weeks per year), occasional 2nd or 3rd shift testing, and performing other similar tasks to support the team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

• Performs routine software and hardware testing of computer systems using provided test tools.
• Performs routine maintenance and upgrades as required.
• Follows established test procedures and scripts to validate the performance of software and hardware.
• Reports testing failures, faults, or inconsistencies as instructed.
• Records test results, updates documentation, and assists in preparing technical reports.
• Completes all required documentation, pre and post test write ups, and correspondence with test leadership.
• Performs basic troubleshooting of software and hardware issues.
• Assists senior technicians with more complicated test scenarios and special projects.
• Complies with all operational, security, and safety guidelines and procedures.

Required Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years of experience in computer system software and hardware testing and troubleshooting
• U.S. Citizenship required and the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level
• General knowledge and understanding of computers, networking, or communication systems
• Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and pay close attention to detail
• Ability to travel 1 to 2 weeks per year as required (domestic travel only)
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of Windows and desktop applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior military experience
• Knowledge of Tactical Data Links (TDL)
• Understanding of personal computers and current Windows Operating Systems
• Working knowledge of Windows and desktop applications including word processing programs preferred

Maximum Salary: $30.77

Salary Type: Hourly
