Job DescriptionLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Location: Brooklyn, NYHours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts (Mon - Fri) 8:30am-5pmOrganization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)ResponsibilitiesUpdate and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnosesManage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical recordAssist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staffClean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointmentsEscort patients to exam roomsProvide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special dietsAssist physician with exams and/or proceduresPrepare and administer InjectionsPhlebotomy and collection of other lab specimensPerform point of care lab testingPerform EKGsAdminister and document medication under a physician's order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical errorRequirementsCurrent NYS LPN license required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.Experience with EMR'sReliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needsBenefitsSalary: Starting at $34 per hour based on experienceBenefits: Health Insurance on day 1, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, Paid Time off (PTO), 8 paid holidays (2 floating)NYCBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
