Description
Mechanic
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment. Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, brake service, etc.). Maintain and repair equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, trailers, pickups, and small engines. Troubleshoot engine, transmission, and electrical systems. Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records. Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards. Respond to field service calls and perform on-site repairs as needed. Coordinate with Fleet Manager regarding parts, repairs, and maintenance schedules. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop/work area. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
High school diploma or GED required. 3+ years of experience as a mechanic (heavy equipment or diesel preferred). Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred or ability to obtain). Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment. Good communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 5075 lbs regularly. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to use tools and equipment safely.
Shop and field environment. Exposure to noise, grease, fumes, and varying weather conditions. May require overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
