Adjunct Instructor - MathematicsThe Math, Science, and Manufacturing Division is accepting applications for a part-time instructor for the Mathematics Department. Adjunct applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Submission of an application places candidates in an applicant pool for consideration as instructional needs arise. Positions are offered based on course availability, enrollment, and departmental needs. Applicants will be contacted only if an instructional assignment becomes available and their qualifications align with the course requirements.Essential FunctionsPromote the philosophy, mission, and vision of Kishwaukee CollegeProvide engaging, enthusiastic, and student‑centered teaching to community college studentsEstablish a professional classroom atmosphere that encourages mutual respect and civil engagementContribute to a collegial, collaborative, and positive attitude on the college campusUnderstand and convey the essentials of the course discipline that students should masterMaintain high academic standards while demonstrating equitability and fairnessWork successfully and productively in a team environment with other facultyPerform the necessary duties of an instructor to ensure quality instructionEstablish productive and supportive communication with studentsPrepare the course syllabus following the college‑approved format and contentBe organized and conduct classes in accordance with the published class scheduleEvaluate student progress through regularly scheduled assessments and examsPromptly return graded work to students and maintain student grade recordsAdvise students as appropriatePerform the necessary duties of an adjunct instructor to ensure quality instructionRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of, and commitment to, the comprehensive community college missionWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeCommitment to fostering an engaging learning environment for a diverse student bodyFlexibility for teaching courses offered day, evening, and onlineInstructional expertise to deliver instruction for 21st‑century learners and assess student learning outcomes appropriately to ensure academic qualityFacility with a range of teaching and learning strategies to foster active learning and student successWillingness to participate in activities or on college committees that contribute to the success of studentsRequired QualificationsMaster's degree in the subject area or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate credit hours in the subject areaExperience teaching onlineExperience with dual‑credit or early college instruction (preferred)Physical DemandsAbility to stand and lecture for extended periods of time.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementKishwaukee College is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and any reasonable and timely accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act will be made upon documented request by the employee.#J-18808-Ljbffr
