Water/Wastewater Engineer Department: Water/WastewaterEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Huntsville, ALDescription We're looking for a Water Resources Engineer to join the HMB team ! That's why we strive to create a work environment that challenges and inspires our employees, igniting their passion and drive to achieve greatness each and every day.Opportunities available in Nashville TN, Frankfort KY, Lexington KY, Louisville KY and Indianapolis INKey Responsibilities Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater to and from end users, including pumping and storage projectsAssist senior design staff in design of water and/or wastewater treatment plant projectsReview and analyze drainage systems for storm water or floodplains to ensure safety of the ecosystem and public; designs necessary conveyance systems to safeguard the area.Assess the need for drinking water and/or wastewater treatment systems based on current and projected future population and/or development demands; conducts feasibility studies for the construction of public utility infrastructure to meet identified needsAnalyze, or assist with analysis of, various water and/or wastewater treatment technologies, and recommend the most effective methodDesign and develop specifications for various pumping and force main systemsCollaborate with contractors and government agencies regarding construction of assigned projectsEnsure design and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codesConduct feasibility and related studies regarding the collection, treatment, or distribution of water or wastewater, and prepare written technical reportsProvide clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on water resources related issuesConduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.Align with marketing team on RFPs, presentations and scoping projectsSkills, Knowledge and Expertise BS or MS in Civil EngineeringRegistration as a licensed Professional EngineerExperience designing water treatment plants, in part or in whole, a plus5+ years of experience in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources fieldProject and / or Client Management experience is requiredAbility to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of all aspects of small- to large-scale multi-discipline water/wastewater projects of varying technical complexityProficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, as well as time management skillsStrong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines and other assigned project parametersDetail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environmentBenefits Excellent compensation packageFlexible work scheduleAbility to work hybrid work scheduleCompetitive holiday and paid-time-off programs401(k) Plan and MatchCompetitive health, vision and dental insurance premiumsCompany-furnished life insuranceShort and Long-term DisabilityParental LeaveVariety of voluntary benefit optionsEmployee Assistant Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Accountand More#LI-MK1#J-18808-Ljbffr
