Position: Education Administrator 2 (Range 22) located in Seward, Alaska. This role is open to Alaska residents only.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and oversight for all training programs at AVTEC, ensuring high‑quality instruction and compliance with the Council on Occupational Education (COE) standards.Supervise academic Department Heads, ensuring consistency and quality across programs.Oversee curriculum and assessment processes, manage academic documentation, and support accreditation compliance.Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to maintain AVTEC's status as a premier postsecondary career and technical training center.CompetenciesAttention to detail: thorough, conscientious work.Leadership: influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts style to situations.Problem solving: identifies problems, evaluates alternatives, and recommends solutions.Teaching others: provides training, feedback, and mentorship.Written communication: writes clearly, concisely, and persuasively for the intended audience.Minimum QualificationsA bachelor's degree.Either:Two years experience as an Education Specialist 2 or an Education Administrator 1 with the State of Alaska or equivalent elsewhere.Six years experience in education, including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity at a principal level or equivalent; graduate work may substitute a maximum of two years of non‑specialized experience.A master's degree in Administration and/or Education is preferred.BenefitsEmployees receive standard State of Alaska benefits, including paid leave accrual, retirement, health insurance, and a comprehensive benefits package designed for a healthy work‑life balance.
