Overview Job Summary: The Associate will be responsible for managing a caseload involving complex legal issues surrounding emerging technology, MLM cases, and other complex consumer class actions. Candidates must possess excellent writing skills and the ability to independently take depositions and argue motions.Responsibilities Evaluating new cases; preparing and reviewing case proposalsConducting legal researchDeveloping and recommending case strategyDrafting motions and briefs in file-ready formOverseeing filing process for motions and briefsPreparing, finalizing, and serving stipulations, discovery letters, joint statements, and proposed ordersCorresponding with co-counsel, opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients as necessaryDrafting, propounding, reviewing, and responding to discovery; managing discovery disputesPreparing for and taking/defending depositionsAttending mediations, arbitrations, and court hearingsTaking argument at mediation, arbitration, and court hearingsAttending and/or leading team and firm meetingsAdhering to all deadlines (internal and court mandated)Administrative duties as they relate to the practice of lawQualifications Education and/or Experience: 3+ years of litigation experienceBar admission requiredAbility and desire to run your own cases independently with minor supervisionExperience drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and formulating case strategiesSkills and Abilities: Effective time managementSelf-sufficientKnowledge of relevant lawStrong writing and legal research skillsTechnologically adeptReliableExcellent organizational and interpersonal skillsLegal case management software experienceMaintain a commitment to superior client serviceExceptional personal interaction skillsPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
