They implement CBI's Quality Management System and work with the project team to ensure compliance with CBI, Code and Client requirements.ResponsibilitiesEffectively exemplify the company's Leadership CompetenciesActively seeks and utilizes an effective mentoring relationship(s)Establishes medium and long term career and personal development goalsEnthusiastically seeks and accepts tasks and projects in rotations that allow for maximum experience and growthProactively embraces and promotes the company's HSE requirement's and cultureRegularly introspect, seek feedback and adapt behaviors for ongoing personal developmentUtilizes communication skills appropriate to the environment, resulting in effective interactions with internal and external stakeholdersAccurately produce deliverables per applicable design code, company standards and customer drawings and specifications.Adhere to regulations and bylaws of local professional engineering jurisdictions and code of ethics in protection of the public and the environment.Ensure designs and details are safe for field erection and use, with constructability in mind.Reliably check and sign off welding and NDE procedure, material specifications and other deliverables for customer approval or project use per applicable design code, company standards and customer drawings and specifications.Compare designs and details to as-sold estimate and customer documents and advise project team of discrepancies and potential change notices.Coordinate with other roles and functions on project team.Forecast how long it will take to do a task – commit to definitive deadlines.Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to less experienced plate structures engineers.Make decisions on project-specific details and advise project team.Generate improvement ideas for tools and workflow associated to the role, and develop investment justification.Implement improvement initiatives within the department and/or broader organization.Contribute to the technical body of knowledge within area of expertise.Local RequirementsSubject to Project Terms and ConditionsReports to: Project ManagerWork Location: Project site in Southwest Louisiana.Knowledge of API 620 is preferredExperience working on or overseeing welding or QA/QC of LNG or Cryogenic API 620 Storage TanksComply fully with CB&I Business Conduct, Safety and Ethics Policies at all times.Implementing the Project Quality Management System requirements as per company / contract requirements.Understand the scope of work and develop Project Quality Plan/ Contract Quality Plan (PQP/CQP).Develop inspection test plans, welding procedures, and other QC deliverables to meet contract requirements.Coordinate Pre-inspection Meetings (PIM) with Client to review the project inspection and test plans prior to starting work.Maintains good working relations with internal and external customers.Ensures all work performed meets regulations, codes, CB&I Policies/ Procedures, industry requirements and contract specific requirements.Forecast and assign resources, ensure implementation of training, and oversee certifications for welding, NDE and QA/QC personnel.Ensure Material Receiving Inspections are completed, and any discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.Review of vendor documents to ensure they comply with contract requirements.Develop and implement effective problem-solving techniques that prevent recurrence of non-conformances.Plan, coordinate, and take part in training and development activities to improve project performance and enhance individual career development.Conduct site quality audits and assess the quality personal.Overseeing quality dossier preparation and submission.QualificationsBS Degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical with a welding emphasis, or Materials Science degree preferred.
