Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) InvestigatorEmployment Type: Full-Time, ExperiencedDepartment: Legal ServicesResponsibilitiesGenerate new investigations and continue ongoing investigations and civil actions involving fraud in areas such as healthcare, contracting, grants, and other federal public funds abuse.Work with ACE attorneys and agency personnel to develop fraud investigations.Perform ancillary investigation services in support of assigned fraud cases.Use electronic databases—public records, property records, business records, government‑maintained databases—to identify documents, witnesses, and physical evidence.Prepare reports on progress of investigations for AUSAs and supervisory attorneys, including findings, analyses, recommendations, and assessments of evidence.Examine books, ledgers, payrolls, cost reports, billing statements, invoices, correspondence, computer data, and other records relevant to the investigation.Analyze large‑scale hard‑copy and electronic data, such as healthcare claims, financial transactions, accounting records, or bank records, to develop investigative leads and assess relevance.Gather and analyze facts, witness statements, timelines, and technical data to advance investigative objectives, establishing and verifying relationships to build proof.Develop and analyze evidence and collect information from primary and secondary sources to clarify suspect or organization patterns and recommend investigative approaches.Assist ACE AUSAs with interviews, depositions, and sworn witness examinations.Assist with subpoenas for documentary materials, interrogatories, or witness testimony.Develop a comprehensive understanding of applicable federal, state, or local laws governing investigations.Determine required evidence to establish responsibility and devise methods for collection, preservation, and presentation.Plan, schedule, and conduct investigations, identifying necessary resources.Execute additional related ACE investigative duties as assigned.Attend meetings and trainings as required.QualificationsStrong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and experience with document review platforms such as Relativity, spreadsheet analysis of claims data, and docketing software.Ability to review and understand a wide variety of legal and non‑legal documents, including motions and briefs.Independent thinking and ability to develop investigative strategies tailored to each case.Excellent communication skills; professional interaction with all staff levels.Strong deadline orientation and teamwork in an office setting.Polite, courteous, and tactful interpersonal skills.BenefitsHealth, Dental, and VisionLife Insurance401(k)Flexible Spending Account (Health, Dependent Care, Commuter)Paid Time Off and Observance of State/Federal HolidaysContact Government Services, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
