Health Science Teacher – Nipomo High School, 2026-2027 School Year (Job ID: 1821)Position Type: Full-time Teaching (184 work days, 1.0 FTE)Salary: Annual entry-level salary ranging from $60,544 to $100,773. Salary is prorated based on start date, full-time equivalent, prior experience, and semester units above a Bachelor's degree.ResponsibilitiesPlan, develop, and administer the health science curriculum for grades 9-12.Deliver instruction in both classroom and laboratory settings, incorporating critical learning procedures and new technology.Assess student learning, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports.Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including advanced placement courses.Collaborate with parents, staff, and administrators to support student growth and maintain a positive learning environment.Participate in school committees, professional development, and in-service activities.Maintain classroom discipline and foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere.Meet deadlines, maintain records, and follow district promotion policies.QualificationsValid California teaching credential with authorization to teach health science grades 9-12.CLAD, BCLAD, or EL authorization (emergency permits are not accepted).Bachelor's degree with coursework required for credentialing and subject‑matter competency.Experience as mandated by the state and accepted by the school district.Resourceful, innovative, helpful, diligent, persistent, and willing to collaborate with colleagues and students.Preferred QualificationsValid California Driver's License.Prior teaching experience.BenefitsSalary placement is on the district certificated salary schedule based on years of full‑time credentialed teaching experience and units of college coursework beyond a Bachelor's degree.
