We're looking for individuals passionate about restoring and protecting coastlines through innovative, resilient, and sustainable solutions.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects along the Texas coast while collaborating with a team of leading engineers, scientists, and modelers.About The RoleIn this role, you will support and lead the analysis and design of dredging, beach nourishment, and coastal restoration projects , helping deliver solutions that enhance resilience, improve ecosystems, and support coastal communities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the analysis and design of coastal restoration projects, including:Marsh restorationBeach nourishmentShoreline protection and stabilizationPerform engineering design for dredging, beach nourishment, and coastal restoration projects, including:Channel layout and alignmentDredging production estimatesPlacement area and beneficial use designShoreline protection and stabilizationDevelop construction plans and specifications for successful project implementation, particularly along the Texas coastContribute to and collaborate with a growing team of numerical modeling experts, supporting development of:Wave modelsTidal circulation modelsStorm surge analysesVessel-induced wave modelingSupport and lead:Proposal developmentScope definitionCost estimatingProject management activitiesBuild and maintain strong client relationships, representing HDR within the community and industryPreferred QualificationsMS degree in Coastal, Ocean, or Civil engineering preferredA minimum of 5 years of experience in coastal engineering projectsExperience with numerical modeling of waves, tidal circulation, and storm surge. Alternatively, strong experience in development of construction plans, specifications, and project management. The candidate may focus on technical topics or engineering design and execution.Suitable candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills.Demonstrate familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, sediment transport, marine dredging, and basic geotechnical or structural systems.Ability to work independently in addition to planning, organizing, and assisting groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/taskRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent fieldPrevious experience in water resources engineering projectsRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
