IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT – DISTRICT INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS MANAGER – Job DescriptionJob Title: Instructional MaterialsWage/Hour Status: Nonexempt ManagerReports To: Director of Digital Learning and Learning ResourcesPay Grade: 01(230 Days)Department: Digital and Learning ResourcesDate Revised: March 2026Primary Purpose: To provide each student and teacher in the district with the instructional materials necessary for a successful instructional program in accordance with TEA guidelines.QualificationsMinimum Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree (preferred)Special Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of the instructional materials procurement processes and funding sourcesWorking knowledge of the SBOE-Instructional Materials Review and Approval (IMRA) instructional materials cycles and the instructional materials adoption processWorking knowledge of the Electronic Materials and Technology (EMAT) system, TipWeb Inventory System, Munis, Google Suite, and Office 365Experience working with textbook publishers and instructional materials vendorsAbility to compile and interpret dataAbility to create spreadsheets, use databases, and create presentationsCustomer service mindset and solution-orientedExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skillsFlexible and adapts easily to changeAbility to lift and move 50 pounds without assistanceMinimum ExperienceSuccessful experience in materials ordering, receipt, inventory, processing, and distribution requiredSuccessful experience in warehouse operations and logistics requiredSuccessful experience with instructional materials budget management preferredSuccessful experience working with TEA, publishers, and instructional materials vendors preferredSuccessful experience supporting campus personnel with instructional materials needsBackground in material handling, purchasing, and stock control preferredProven track record of providing exemplary customer serviceMajor Responsibilities And DutiesAssist the District's designated instructional materials coordinator in the instructional materials adoption process according to the IMRA cycleCoordinate annual schedule of receipt, inventory, and distribution of all instructional materials PreK-12Work closely with Curriculum and Instruction coordinators to determine necessary resources on an ongoing basisAssist the district's designated instructional materials coordinator in developing and submitting required instructional materials reports to TEASubmit orders for instructional materials using state and district online systems.Coordinate shipment of instructional materials within the district and work closely with Facility Services to coordinate transfer and distribution of large-quantity shipments of materials to and from campusesTrain, support, and work closely with campus textbook coordinators and other campus administrative personnel to ensure each campus has successfully implemented processes to support student and teacher access to high-quality instructional materials necessary for teaching and learningManage efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of warehouse inventoryAssist the District's designated instructional materials coordinator to account for adopted instructional materialsWork closely with TEA, publishers, and vendor partners to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency of district processesParticipate in ongoing professional development opportunities and maintain knowledge of IMRA updates and updates to legislation pertaining to instructional materialsMaintain records of activity including instructional materials distribution to and transfer from all schools within the inventory systemAssist the district's instructional materials coordinator in managing funds for instructional materials lost or destroyed, and for return and replacement of instructional materialsOversee the disposal of out-of-adoption instructional materials as well as other instructional materials no longer in use by the DistrictDirect and maintain a safety program for all employees assigned to the warehouseMaintain proper and necessary safety and fire prevention equipment within warehouse as prescribed by law and school policyOperate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety proceduresFollow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediatelySupervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneWorking ConditionsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Lifting and moving boxes up to 50 pounds. Stooping. Bending. Frequent in-district travel and occasional out-of-district travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hoursSafety: Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
