Responsibilities Performs design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systemsWith limited supervision, applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of more complex components, structures, and sub-assembliesResponds in a timely manner to all requests and explores all avenues within authority and makes appropriate referrals to other sourcesMakes thoughtful and valuable suggestions and recommendations for improving own work and/or group's workEstablish requirements for materials, structural components, and functional systemsRelease results as design data after review from other engineersDocument results of design activitiesBasic Qualifications Requires bachelor\'s in mechanical engineering/aerospace engineering & 2 years of related experience or Master's Degree in EngineeringAbility to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisiteExcellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) softwareKnowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Preferred Qualifications Current active Security ClearanceWorking knowledge of NXKnowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes, additive manufacture experience desirableUnderstanding of design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM)Ability and willingness to travelKnowledge of additive manufacturing/material/manufacturing metallic structures/composites#J-18808-Ljbffr
