DescriptionThis position is for Epes Transport System, LLC, a division of Penske Logistics, based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Associate Financial Analyst is responsible for providing critical accounting and analytical support for financial processes — including billing, payroll, metrics, planning, pricing, and forecasting — for Penske Logistics Field Operations. This role may support one customer/one location, one customer/many locations, or many customers/many locations. The position provides support to functional organizations as well as operational management. The analysis includes assisting with financial reporting, monitoring key performance indicators, and supporting month‑end close activities. This is a hands‑on role that requires the analyst to work collaboratively with multiple organizations to understand and support the business.ScheduleMonday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM, OnsiteMajor ResponsibilitiesProvide overall financial analytical support — including interpreting financial results and delivering ad‑hoc analysis — to drive sound operational decision‑makingAssist in the preparation of annual business plans, identifying key risks, trends, and opportunitiesCapture and report on critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for both internal and external customers, ensuring timely and accurate performance visibilityActively participate in month‑end close processes, including preparation of required documentation and account reconciliations, ensuring deadlines are consistently metIdentify and implement LEAN principles and process improvements (Kaizen, etc.) to support continuous improvement initiatives and reduce operational inefficienciesOther projects and tasks as assignedQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred0–2 years of general accounting or entry‑level finance experience preferredIntermediate Microsoft Office skills required, with primary proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointMust have strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize and consistently meet deadlinesAnalytical mindset with strong attention to detailHighly organized, self‑motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a financial management teamStrong understanding of the importance of cross‑functional collaboration with Operations team and the personnel at the Area, Region and Corporate levelsRegular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.Successful candidate must complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (past employment, education, and criminal history), and complete a drug screening.Physical RequirementsThe physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
