The qualified individual must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.Job DescriptionIndependently assess community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identify practical, cost‑effective solutionsDevelop clear, well‑organized planning documents and technical reports, including Preliminary Engineering Reports (PERs)Prepare preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can use to secure infrastructure fundingLead meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and foster project support and engagementDepending on your experience and expertise, contribute to additional project areas, such as evaluating and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, analyzing the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects, or supporting other related technical initiativesQualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or the ability and commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design, with exposure to a variety of treatment systems; experience with funding, financing, and governance frameworks for Capital Improvement Programs is a plusWillingness and ability to travel as needed to support community projectsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse stakeholdersERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long‑term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11‑20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro‑rated for part‑time) and more.ERG is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable EEOC regulations.
