As part of a team, and through best‑in‑class, data‑driven analytics, this role will partner and/or lead cross‑functional teams for strategic and tactical decision‑making; will be a lead role in generating financial insights in short‑term and long‑term strategic global results, with a focus on efficient capital allocation. The role will also be responsible for developing leading financial business case dialogues for major R&D investments and new business development, and will serve as the finance lead for strategy and new business opportunities.ResponsibilitiesGuide the analysis of financial results to determine accuracy and completeness of information.Develop various financial reports and reviews with management on financial plans and budgets, including complex analyses such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, budgeting, and financial and expense performance comparisons.Guide and maintain conformance to IFRS requirements, and drive discussions with internal and external auditors.Drive and optimize financial performance for R&D and capital investment projects, making recommendations to management about specific actions needed to deliver on targets using data‑driven decision‑making, aligning organization and collaborating with stakeholders on a monthly basis to implement targeted performance improvement. Specific analytics include monthly forecast and actual variances and longer‑term strategic trends.Conduct financial project plans for ongoing and new R&D projects.Provide ad‑hoc analysis to help the business understand return on investment, ensuring future benefit is aligned with cost and effort to realize.Analyze product profitability in short‑term and longer‑term trends, highlighting key insights and recommendations to portfolio management regarding product life‑cycle costs.Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Capabilities For The RoleEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.Experience: 5‑10 years of progressive analytical and controlling experience, with demonstrated career progression in a similar environment.CompetenciesAbility to distill business processes and results into actionable information and storyline for senior leadership, with very strong presentation skills.Proactive engagement with internal customers at various levels, facilitating effective communication and supporting R&D and portfolio management teams in understanding actual performance and future strategic impacts.Excellent communication and networking skills, results‑orientated and quality‑focused, with a proactive attitude and intercultural sensitivity, and the ability to establish virtual networks across cultures and locations.Team player: ability to manage horizontal teams and lead cross‑functional efforts, coordinating with finance, accounting, audit and external personnel across various levels.Project management knowledge and experience, strong analytical ability, and meticulous attention to detail.Excellent business acumen and understanding of complex organizational structures, reporting structures, and the budget and forecast process.Strong systems skills in SAP, expert Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.Experience with SAP BW (Data Warehouse) reporting.Well‑versed in Healthcare R&D developmental methodology and the global Point of Care Diagnostics Healthcare industry.Understanding and application of intangible capitalization of development projects and their impact on P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.Track record of driving business improvements and standardizing process workflows.Peer mentorship to team members to share knowledge and foster talent within the Finance team.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Capabilities For The RoleExperience working in an international business setting with exposure to multiple cultures.Strong experience with data analytics tools.Experience in the Healthcare business with a good understanding of Healthcare industry dynamics, especially within diagnostics.Position reports directly to the Head of Finance, Strategy & Portfolio Management and is based in Walpole, MA (USA) or a hybrid work location in the US.
