Have an aggressive work ethic with a focus on production.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKSAbility to apply basic machine shop mathDemonstrate layout proficiencyDisassembles various types of equipment and machineryProficient at setting up and operation of drill pressesPerform overhaul, maintenance, and testing of pumps, valves, turbines, condensers, shafts, rudders, and winchesSet up and operate portable machining tools; proper care for and safely use hand and power toolsAll other duties as assigned based on operational needsKNOWLEDGEExperience with troubleshooting and repairing various mechanical equipment, including ANSI pumps, various types of compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, and mixersExperience installing below-deck auxiliaries, such as evaporators, heaters, pumps, condensers, and connecting them to the proper equipmentExperience in the removal, repair, and modification or overhaul of various types of marine shipboard equipment and systems such as valves, pumps, hydraulics, turbines, reduction gears, generators, anchor windlass and steering gearsExperience reading and understanding blueprints, sketches, and templatesExperience with manual and semi-automatic welding proceduresFamiliar with industry codes and regulationsSafe use of all tools and equipmentWork independently and with teamsWHY SHOULD YOU APPLY?Competitive Pay - $26 - $35 depending on experience and passing 6G weld testSingle and Family Medical + Dental + Vision! Must be able to understand and follow directions. Normal hearing level needed.
