New MillenniumThis position is highly interactive with plant, purchasing, accounting and management staff throughout various locations within the company. It offers a unique opportunity to do monthly accounting activities while also using analytical skills, research, and problem solving to be creative, work on system and accounting projects, and assist with the development and improvement of company inventory software and procedures.ResponsibilitiesVerify accuracy and completeness of daily accounting activities at the plant including, but not limited to, inventory, shipping, invoicing, purchasing and accounts payableVerify all material movements are documented and reconciled dailyWork with plant manager to ensure production data is reported accurately and timelyAssist the division controller with internal control compliance and identifying opportunities to improve processes and internal controlsAssist the accounting supervisor and division controller with month-end accounting duties including, but not limited to, ensuring proper cut-off for invoicing, documenting revenue recognition, inventory and material cost of goods sold, journal entries, financial reporting and forecastingInteract with various departments and SDI locations to assist with intercompany transactions and balancing.Required4-year Accounting, Business or Finance degree with at least two years of manufacturing accounting experienceCPA or eligible to sit for the examExperience performing and reconciling inventory countsExperience with month end closings and reconciling general ledger accountsProblem-solving and Strong Microsoft Excel skillsAbility to trace transactions through production and accounting systems and identify errorsPreferredExperience with maintaining manufacturing inventory.Experience with Microsoft Business Central accounting software.General understanding of inventory accounting processes.Experience developing reports to improve controls or automate processesSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.#J-18808-Ljbffr
