This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated, cross-border matters involving economic sanctions, export controls, CFIUS, and national security issues. The role offers exposure to complex corporate and financial transactions and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams representing leading multinational clients.Candidate ProfileJD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic recordActive Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standingWashington, D.C.-barred candidates preferred3-4 years of substantive experience in national security, international trade, or related regulatory mattersExperience advising on U.S. economic sanctions (OFAC), export controls (EAR/ITAR), and CFIUSBackground supporting cross-border transactions involving trade or national security considerationsAbility to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentLarge law firm or in-house experience preferredPrior experience with U.S. government agencies or regulators is a plusSoft Skills: Excellent analytical, writing, and strategic thinking skills, strong attention to detail, good business judgment, and the ability to work independently as well as collaborativelyKey ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on U.S. economic sanctions , including compliance, risk assessments, licensing, and enforcement mattersCounsel on export controls under EAR and ITAR frameworksSupport CFIUS and national security reviews , including filings, mitigation strategies, and agency coordinationConduct diligence on sanctions, export control, and national security risks in M&A, private equity, and financing transactionsDraft and review compliance policies, contractual provisions, and disclosures related to trade riskAssist with internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and responses to government inquiriesCollaborate with cross-functional legal teams on complex, multinational mattersWhy Join Us?This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded national security and global trade team working at the intersection of law, policy, and global commerce.
