Ford Outside Wholesale Parts Sales Representative – Job DescriptionPosition TitleOutside Wholesale Parts Sales RepresentativePosition SummaryThe Outside Wholesale Parts Sales Representative is responsible for growing wholesale parts sales for a Ford dealership by developing relationships with independent repair shops, fleet accounts, body shops, municipalities, and aftermarket service providers. This role focuses on increasing market share, maintaining customer loyalty, promoting OEM Ford and Motorcraft parts, and delivering exceptional customer service while achieving monthly sales and gross profit goals.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentDevelop new wholesale parts accounts within assigned territoryMaintain and grow relationships with existing customersConduct regular in-person visits to repair facilities and fleet customersPromote Ford OEM and Motorcraft parts programs, promotions, and accessoriesIncrease conquest sales from aftermarket and competing dealershipsIdentify opportunities for additional sales through account analysis and customer needsMeet or exceed monthly sales, gross profit, and account growth targetsCustomer Relationship ManagementBuild long-term relationships with shop owners, service managers, and techniciansResolve customer concerns quickly and professionallyProvide product information, technical assistance, and parts availability updatesMaintain regular communication regarding specials, inventory updates, and delivery schedulesMarket & Territory ManagementAnalyze local market conditions and competitor pricingTrack customer buying trends and lost salesDevelop territory action plans to increase penetrationMaintain accurate customer records and contact historyOperational CoordinationWork closely with:Wholesale parts counter staffDelivery driversInventory control personnelParts managerCoordinate timely deliveries and order fulfillmentAssist with special-order parts follow-upHelp ensure high parts fill rates and customer satisfactionReporting & Administrative DutiesPrepare daily/weekly sales activity reportsTrack sales performance against objectivesMonitor receivables and assist with account collections when necessaryMaintain CRM or dealership management system recordsQualificationsRequiredAutomotive parts sales experience preferredStrong knowledge of Ford and Motorcraft partsExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsValid driver's license with clean driving recordAbility to work independently and manage a sales territoryStrong organizational and time-management skillsPreferredPrevious wholesale automotive parts sales experienceKnowledge of dealership DMS systems such as Tekion, CDK, or Reynolds & ReynoldsExisting relationships with independent repair shops or fleetsUnderstanding of Ford wholesale programs and parts marketing initiativesPerformance MetricsTypical KPIs may include:Monthly wholesale sales volumeGross profit percentageNew account acquisitionCustomer retention rateParts fill rateLost sales reductionTerritory growth percentageAverage monthly account penetrationPhysical RequirementsFrequent driving and customer visitsAbility to lift and carry automotive parts up to 50 lbsProlonged standing, walking, and occasional warehouse activitySample Ideal Candidate ProfileA successful candidate is energetic, self-motivated, customer-focused, and highly knowledgeable about Ford OEM parts and dealership operations.
