Job SummaryThe Senior Mortgage Closer is responsible for reviewing loan packages, scheduling loan closings, and preparation of loan closing documents prior to loan funding. Additionally, this role may assist in the Funding function when needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages pipeline of loans to ensure service standards and financial goals are met. Reviews files for accuracy, updates information on LOS as needed, and clears closing conditions. Prepares initial closing disclosure along with closing package. Ensures loans are in accordance with federal and state regulations such as, but not limited to, RESPA, HMDA, and Fair Lending Practices.Prepares, balances, and emails final closing disclosure to title company. Communicates with title company on final documents and ensures docs are delivered in a timely manner for scheduled loan closing.Balances final figures with title and orders wire from wire desk.Effectively communicates with team members as well as outside entities to facilitate a prompt, efficient closing of each loan.Reads and resolves any loan compliance issues during closing/funding process. Responds to and resolves any post-closing/audit findings.Performs other duties as assigned.Position RequirementsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredExperienceFour years loan closing/funding experience in residential mortgageFunctional/Technical SkillsWorking knowledge of RESPA disclosures, FHA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC guidelines along with title commitments, hazard and flood insurance policiesEffective written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates a commitment to quality customer serviceStrong attention to detailWell organized with the ability to multi-taskDemonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesWorks well with othersProficient in all compliance-related regulations including RESPAStrong mathematical skillsStrong PC skills (MS Office products) and experience with mortgage origination systemsWorking knowledge of Encompass preferredEnvironmental/Physical DemandsWork is typically performed in a standard office environment.
