Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while delivering high‑quality solutions.How You'll Make an ImpactDesign and analyze mechanical systems and components for factory automation stations and cells using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CREO)Conduct thorough engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation in accordance with company or customer standards.Participate in all phases of the project execution plan, from concept generation to design and debugging.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including applications and controls engineers, assembly, and quality assurance to integrate mechanical designs.Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues encountered during design, fabrication, start‑up and debugging.Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to automation and machine design.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.Note: This list of responsibilities is by no means inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.3‑5 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and development.Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CREO).Strong mechanical aptitude.Demonstrated experience designing and working on machines or mechanical systems.Solid understanding of manufacturing processes especially machining and welding.Experience with material selection for various applications.Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, actuators and conveyors is a plus.Experience with Finite Element Analysis is a plus.DisclaimerJR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10‑panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.Company OverviewAt JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, we discover potential, reimagine limits, and advance industry.
