The facility operates a hospital-based laboratory that provides comprehensive pathology services across 6 total hospitals. The laboratory maintains established protocols for specimen processing and diagnostic workflow management. The department processes a steady volume of surgical pathology cases requiring experienced pathologist interpretation with subspecialty expertise.

The area features notable attractions including the Oregon Zoo, OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry), and an aerial tram that serve as popular destinations for family visits. Outdoor activities encompass bike rides along established trails, while downtown areas offer vintage clothing stores for exploration. The region provides access to tours, day trips, and various attractions including the Portland Art Museum and underground tunnel tours.

The anatomic and clinical pathologist will provide comprehensive diagnostic pathology services Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with OR days generally starting at 7:30 AM and tumor boards at 7:00 AM. The position requires interpreting 150 slides per day with 10 days of call per month. Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required with subspecialty training in surgical pathology, gynecologic pathology, cytopathology or hematopathology strongly preferred. The clinician will work within a hospital-based laboratory system covering 6 total hospitals to ensure comprehensive pathology services.
