Description

The multi-line underwriter will be responsible for underwriting of new business for an assigned group of agencies in the West Region. Maintains effective relationships with agency contacts to ensure accurate information is gathered for risk evaluation and provides consultation on company product and coverage capabilities that positively impacts risk selection. Enables profitable growth with assigned agencies including periodic profitability reviews and the implementation of profit improvement actions. Must always maintain a professional demeanor. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.This position is hybrid out of our Scottsdale, AZ office. (4 days in office 1 day at home).ResponsibilitiesQuickly and effectively make underwriting decisions based on review and analysis of information received.Grow the portfolio profitably utilizing underwriting guidelines and applying pricing and terms & conditions that align with the risk characteristics.Collaborate closely with other team members, sales, and management as needed to assess risks and write business.Develop and maintain strong agency relationships and work closely with Underwriters, Sales, and Management to implement agency plans and share accountability in meeting territory goals.Provide support and coaching to the underwriting team and provide leadership on multiple products available to the team to make risk decisions quickly and effectively.Occasionally participate in industry events and travel to meet with agencies to support relationships as needed.Maintain strong product line and industry expertise and stay abreast of changes in markets.Keeps current with market trends and demands.Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred3+ years of experience in a Commercial Lines multiline underwriting roleKnowledge of property and casualty underwriting procedures and disciplineKnowledge of commercial lines products, coverages, and pricing practicesStrong analytical ability and organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExpected salary range for this role is $66,900-$95,000/year.Salaries are based upon a wide range of factors considered in making the compensation decision, including, but not limited to, candidate skills, experience, education and training, the scope and responsibilities of the role, as well as market and business considerations.What We OfferMedical & Dental PlansLife Insurance, including eligible spouses & childrenHealth Care Flexible SpendingDependent Care401k Savings PlansPaid Time OffAmTrust strives to create a diverse and inclusive culture where thoughts and ideas of all employees are appreciated and respected.
