ADTs play a key role in access to care and team-based clinical models, and they operate under a collaborative management agreement with licensed Dentists as defined by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry.Job ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and manage oral health conditions within legal scopeDevelop and implement individualized treatment plansIndependently perform advanced restorative and surgical functions includingClass I–V restorationsExtractions of primary and non-complicated permanent teethStainless steel crowns and pulpotomies (primary teeth)Space maintainers and temporary restorationsBrush biopsies, suture removal, and emergency palliative proceduresPrescribe limited medications in accordance with state law and collaborative agreementPerform preventive care including cleanings, fluoride, radiographs, and sealantsManage emergency dental conditions and referrals when beyond scopeAccurately chart and maintain records in Dentrix or approved EHRProvide oral health counseling and educationEnsure infection control and compliance with OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and Board of Dentistry standardsSupport clinical teaching, mentorship, and student integration when appropriateMaintain a level of productivity that ensures achievement of organizational and fiscal goalsCollaborate with all ODHC departments and functions to support integrated care deliveryRegularly review and respond to ODHC communications via email, intranet, and meetingsMaintain active licensure, certification, CE hours, and a valid collaborative agreementPerform other tasks as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, QualificationsLicensed Advanced Dental Therapist (ADT) in the State of MinnesotaCompleted 2,000 hours of clinical experience as a DT and graduated from an approved ADT programMust maintain or be eligible to obtain a Collaborative Management Agreement with ODHC Dentists in accordance with MN Board of Dentistry regulationsAuthorized to provide advanced care and limited prescriptive servicesCurrent BLS/CPR certificationExcellent diagnostic, restorative, and patient communication skillsFamiliarity with community-based and underserved care settings preferredBilingual skills a plusOther RequirementsTravel is required to meetings, events, and to support other clinic locations within the community and across the region. Means of travel and travel expenses will be reimbursed according to ODHC's travel policy.Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Position requires repetitive use of fingers, hands, and wrist in job related duties, i.e. telephone, computer. Complete range of motion needed, including fine motor skills and tactile sense of both hands. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
