Providing financial guidance and support to patients, the part-time Certified Financial Counselor II will review insurance coverage, assist with payment arrangements, and facilitate communication between staff and leadership while working remotely.Key responsibilitiesReview EMR and visit in-house patients to collect estimated patient portion amounts and verify insurance informationProvide financial counseling to patients regarding insurance benefits, payment options, and financial responsibilitiesMonitor patient financial status, assist with financial aid applications, and act as a patient advocate when communicating with insurance carriersRequired qualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required3 or more years of experience in Patient Access, healthcare, or billing requiredCertified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) required within 180 days of hire
