Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 29, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring a MD or compact RN license, ACLS, and a minimum of 2 years of CVICU/open heart experience. Details Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an academic medical center setting Patient population includes cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, CABG/valve), CAD (STEMI, NSTEMI, AFib w/ RVR, cardiogenic shock), vascular (peripheral bypasses, EVAR), and thoracic (VATS) cases Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:30–08:00 Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as shifts fall on the schedule Floating required within the specialty, sister units, and lower-acuity areas as needed 13-week contract Requirements Active MD or compact RN license required Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required Minimum 2 years of CVICU and/or open heart experience required Additional Information First-time travelers will be considered with at least 2 years of CVICU/open heart experience Any time-off requests must be disclosed upfront at the time of consideration American Traveler Job ID P-715877.
