Position Type: Teaching and Learning/Program Specialist Date Posted: 6/17/2026 Location: District Wide Date Available: 07/06/2026 Together with the district leadership, the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Specialist will design and implement a well-rounded education program for students that goes beyond core content areas. The instructional program focuses on the integration of content areas, civics, gifted, honors, visual and performing arts, history, foreign languages through inquiry, and problem-based instruction with additional emphasis on early literacy and numeracy in grades K-8. QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Arizona teacher's certificate
Arizona Administrative certificate preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience
Hold current teaching certificate
Classroom teaching or coaching experience, including technology integration into the curriculum
Experience with curriculum design processes, implementation and assessment
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
Expertise, i.e., reading, writing, social studies, engineering, arts, math, science, language acquisition, and instruction
Effective facilitation skills
Expert skill in providing professional training and development
Possess the ability to model lessons and create effective presentations for adult learners
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with diverse populations (English Learners (EL), Special Education)
Understanding higher-order thinking skills and implementation
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Developing and implementing a teacher's support structure for instructional integration
Monitoring student and teacher data
Interprets assessment data, both formal and informal, to drive instruction
Facilitate data analysis of student formative and summative assessments in a timely manner with administration and teachers
Developing and delivering professional development
Facilitation of professional learning communities and providing ongoing support in coaching to enhance their proficiency in delivering STEAM content and pedagogy
Develop strategies and the integration of technology
Coordinate the direct instruction and inquiry based model for higher order thinking skills for staff and students with the aligned curricula
Collaborate with the district leadership to coordinate and teach curriculum alignment and activities
Collaborate with the district leadership to develop a coaching model aligned with the job embedded professional development plan with follow-up and feedback.
Coordinates and monitors school support for new teachers
Collaborates with the administrative and leadership teams to develop appropriate student interventions to meet the needs of all students
Assist teachers in lesson planning, data analysis, flexible grouping and integration of technology, engineering, math, arts, and science
Mentor, facilitate, and collaborate with classroom teachers on assessment results aligned to core instructional strategies for standard based instruction
Performs additional duties as assigned
