Description
CTE Instructional Aide
Assist Career & Technical Education (CTE) teachers in management of classroom activities, administrative requirements, industry-based certifications, and shop/lab safety. Work under supervision of certified teacher.
Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED and 48.0 Semester hours of college coursework or Educational Aide Assessment Training
Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work well with children Ability to communicate effectively Basic understanding of shop tools and the safe use of equipment
Experience: Some experience working with children

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Equipment Used: Copier, personal computer, typewriter, and audiovisual equipment Assist with tools and equipment found in Automotive Technology and Ag Mechanics/Welding
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; tools and equipment found in CTE courses such as Automotive Technology and Ag Mechanics/Welding
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel; Auto Tech lab and Ag Mechanics welding shop
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work with a wide variety of teachers; Occasional districtwide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
