The Psychiatric Lead is responsible for completing intake and follow-up assessments of RTP clients.
Participates in mental health team meetings at each RTP, reviews program referrals and discharges, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders relevant to the RTP.
Ensures adherence to regulatory expectations and oversees other providers in the RTP setting.
Acts with autonomy and creativity in advancing the quality of care within RTP including by analyzing trends in diagnostic presentations, developing treatment protocols, and considering the strategic application of limited resources.
Support program evaluation, training programs, and research projects in the RTP setting.
This position serves as an advisor to the Chief of Psychiatry, Chief Medical Officer, and other senior clinical leadership.

Psychiatric providers employed by the University of Colorado to provide care to the inmates in the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) shall be responsible for offering professional psychiatric services to the inmate population in compliance with CDOC Clinical Services and mental health guidelines, to include psychiatric assessment of offenders' mental health needs, prescription and management of psychiatric medicine, clinical management of offenders with mental illness, consultation with other staff regarding the mental health needs of inmates, provision of training to ancillary staff regarding psychiatric needs and issues, and assisting in the care of inmates presenting with psychiatric crises or emergencies.
