Proven, hands-on estimating experience in a high-mix, low-volume CNC machine shop, job shop, or precision tooling environment.
Deep knowledge of machine shop processes, including CNC milling and turning, multi-axis machining, grinding, EDM, fixturing, tooling, materials, and common outside processes such as heat treat and plating.
Proven ability to build accurate routings and estimate setup and cycle times by operation and work center from drawings and models.
Experience with capacity planning, including work center loading, bottleneck analysis, and setting realistic lead times.
Formal machine shop estimating experience is required.
Direct, substantial estimating and routing responsibility
An associate or bachelor's degree in machining, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline is helpful but not required when equivalent manufacturing experience demonstrates the ability to succeed.
