Associate's degree + 6 years of experience in technical writing or documentation for software, data, or IT systems; equivalencies considered (Bachelor's + 4 years; 8 years with no degree)

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust (High Risk) fitness determination

Demonstrated experience writing technical documentation for software or data systems, such as requirements, design documents, test reports, runbooks, or user guides, based on interviews with engineers and subject matter experts

Experience documenting data, such as data dictionaries, data models, metadata, or catalog entries, including definitions, lineage, and data sensitivity

Experience producing Section 508 conformant documents and working to style guides, templates, and version control in a federal or other regulated environment

Familiarity with AI and generative AI concepts, such as model evaluation, output validation, prompts, and retrieval, and with documentation practices such as model cards

Experience with data catalog or governance tools such as Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview, or Collibra, and with platforms such as Databricks or Microsoft Azure

Certification such as Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) or DHS Trusted Tester, and experience with Confluence, SharePoint, Jira, or docs-as-code tools such as Git and Markdown

Background in federal oversight, audit, investigative, law enforcement, or legal documentation, where accuracy and evidentiary standards matter

$42.00 - $55.00/hr.

MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN OR CURRENTLY HOLD SECRET CLEARANCE

Bachelor's degree

1-2 years of hands-on site engineering automation experience

U.S. Citizenship required for Secret Clearance eligibility.

Ansible knowledge

Windows experience

Capability to support program execution in classified environments

Access SIPRNet from NMCI locations

Experience in automated script design, coding, debugging, and maintenance.

Familiarity with CI/CD toolsets such as GitLab.

Understanding of Azure DevOps workflows, projects, and custom configurations.

Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

Ability to obtain an IAT Level II Baseline Certification within the first 3 months of employment.

Preferred certifications: ITILv4 or Agile SAFe.
