Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Good verbal, written and listening communication skills with emphasis on phone skills are a must
Aptitude with office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and familiarity with ERP systems

Knowledge of mechanical processes to aid in understanding of purchased materials

Review item specifications against supplier capability to determine best supplier alignment
Place orders for a variety of materials and supplies primarily with established vendors
Interview or contact supplier salesperson, secure bids and review bids with purchasing manager
Expedite orders as required
Continually pursue new or alternative sources for supplies ensuring cost effectiveness of purchases
Required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the ISO Quality program and procedures, and the safety program
